Nahaolelua Ohana
MISSION STATEMENT - THE MAKING OF THE NAHAOLUA KAPA
Our Hawaiian blood joins us as ohana (family) with deep roots cultivated in the righteous Aina (land) of Hawaii Nei. We hope to share with one another, near and far alike, the richness of the Nahaolelua lineage. We humbly ask that you share in keeping the bonds of old ever new and present with all members of our family for as long as we exist. Sharing our family history is the bond that will enrich our understanding of each and every member of our ohana. We have a history, we have documents, we have pictures, we have memories, but most importantly, we have Akua's grace upon us. Please join us in perpetuating this family for all generations.
Where to begin - Some of us have boxes of papers, pictures, and paraphernalia. Some of us, may not have anything but stories passed down from our family. Any piece of information about our family's past and lives lived is of value. Stories are as they have always been, just memories, some clear, some vague or askewed, but all are welcome. After all, wasn't most of early history passed down through story? It is always up to the listener to glean what is important to retain or pass on, and just as important, the listener must try to remember and share these truths. We humbly assure you that all remnants are neither too small nor invaluable to be woven into the Kapa (quilt) of the Nahaolelua Ohana.
Please join our website in introducing yourselves. Attaching pictures of your family would help us to get to know one another if we don't already. Many of you are not living on the islands anymore, but you have cousins everywhere that would love to hear from you. Many have worked on our family reunion which we must resurrect after the cancellation during the pandemic. Let the aloha begin.
